DAN HENRY – 1963 Special Edition (DH1963)

COD: DH1963 Categoria:

The companion chronograph for pilots, with an oversized 1/10th-second stopwatch and GMT bezel.

In the 1960s, flying was not only reserved for daredevil fighters, a big group were amateur pilots and loved this peculiar hobby. They were flying for fun, not for war, but they still needed a very legible watches that could provide precious information in the cockpit.

These tool watches appeal to the adventurer in me, I can’t escape seeing them worn under a flight jacket while piloting an airplane in the glamorous 1960’s. They focus on the bare essentials for the heroes of that period, and some 50 years later still look rough and sexy. – DH

The larger size of this chronograph was a key feature that provided room for a wider dial and increased legibility. The high-visibility design focused on the chronograph complication, which timed maintenance, operations, and flight procedures. In addition, the rotating bezel could track longer durations and function as a GMT indicator. Large luminescent areas proved especially useful during night flights..
